Attention Writers: You will rule the world (or at least Google rankings)

Google recently purchased PostRank. Their technology analyzes blog posts to see if people are engaging. Based on a recent Google post and industry commentators, the thinking is that Google will start to place even more emphasis on quality content. Up to this point Google rankings could be manipulated by buying back links and other inbound link farm strategies know as black hat.
So, as social sharing increases in importance in the eyes of Google and back links take a back seat for organic ranking, writers that can create interesting articles and posts that engage people will begin to rule the world … or at least Google rankings.
