Navigating the Rapids of Web Design. In Whitby, they wanted their Guide for free.

You have to love the internet.  There’s so much information available for free. There is much confusion of late and because our business is web design and internet marketing, increasingly companies are asking us for free advice. Ah, the joys of web design. In Whitby recently, a potential client asked me to tell them how to use their website to increase business before we even signed an agreement.

Paddling down a rough river is free. Knowing how to navigate it and survive requires an experienced guide. There’s a difference between asking for general advice and specific advice just like there are general guides on navigating rivers and other books about navigating a specific river.

There’s plenty of general free information on the web. The key is knowing what information actually works. And for that, expect to pay at least something.
